3 Anti-Aging Superfoods Guaranteed to Make You Look Younger

3 Anti-Aging Superfoods Guaranteed to Make You Look Younger

We’ve concocted an expert list of 3 anti-aging superfoods guaranteed to make you look younger. And the good news is, you can start eating them right away and start seeing immediate results.

Over the years, numerous health experts have been pushing us to incorporate far more healthy foods into our diet primarily for health reasons. It is essential to eat highly nutritious foods to lower our risk of diabetes, high cholesterol, heart disease and other chronic illnesses.

What the experts may not know or dismiss entirely is the affect these superfoods can have on our appearance. They insist, “There are no studies to suggest that ‘X’ food will get rid of wrinkles, laugh lines or nasolabial folds.”

I suspect they don’t want us to use more conventional methods to address our aging skin problems. Cosmetic surgery is a very lucrative multi-billion dollar a year business. Why bother correcting a wrinkle by treating its source internally when you can get an expensive filler or injection?

I’m not knocking cosmetic surgery. Here at Elite Beauty, some of our staff have had several cosmetic procedures. I believe with absolute certainty that cosmetic surgery can truly help women who need real corrective results. However, I’m a firm believer that aging can be treated at the source long before the need to go under the knife.

With New Year’s Resolutions and the commitment many people are making to getting healthy and looking years younger comes a different game plan.

A new you needs a new strategy.

I’ve mapped out some serious anti-aging foods that will give you some serious bang for your buck. They’re inexpensive, they taste great, and they will help you look years younger in a matter of days.

Green leafy vegetables

Green leafy vegetables contain an infinitesimal amount of antioxidants. Antioxidants quite literally destroy harmful elements that wreak havoc and cause skin damage.

A wrinkle is a layer of skin tissue that has succumbed to disease. Whether it’s exposure to harmful elements or over-injury to the tissue through repeated movement and strain, a wrinkle is physiological damage within the structure of the skin.

Without enough antioxidants and beneficial nutrients to protect and nourish the skin, the damage is albeit guaranteed to manifest in wrinkles, sunspots, pockets and sagging.

Imagine two boxers in the ring. Boxer #1 is the bad guy who fights dirty. He’s always jabbing and throwing throat and kidney punches with the intent of being cruel and unjust. He doesn’t know how to win without cheating through nefarious means.

Boxer #2 is strong, skillful, and defensive. He is nimble and very agile and can swiftly defend himself from all approaches and angles. He moves around his opponent with the utmost precision and accuracy.

Boxer #1 cannot penetrate Boxer #2’s defenses. Boxer #2 is far more prepared and equipped to handle Boxer #1’s onslaught of sloppy maneuvers. He is easily able to outmaneuver Boxer #1’s less than skillful attempts to blindside him.

Antioxidants are in the same league with Boxer #2. The health benefits found in green leafy vegetables can easily withstand the onslaught of free radicals (Boxer #1) that seek to damage the skin. Free radicals don’t stand a chance against antioxidants.

Citrus fruits

I don’t know why orange juice has been so insanely expensive the last two decades, but that hasn’t stopped me from drinking it.

I pile on the citrus. I love lemon and lime in my beverages. I eat tangelos, grapefruits, oranges and tangerines by the truckload because:

  • They are full of water

Pound for pound, the water content in citrus fruits is upwards of 95+%. The remaining components are made up of highly dense, fibrous, yummy goodness that helps push out all that harmful gunk and muck clogging up your skin, digestive tract and your lymphatic system.

Vitamin C is THE anti-wrinkle powerhouse nutrient found in nearly every anti-aging skincare line in existence. Vitamin C is the go-to for anti-aging in skincare because it’s chalk full of antioxidants and collagen and elastin building properties.

  • They are loaded with fiber which helps reduce water retention by expelling salt and binding with excess fluids to be excreted through the intestines

Bloat is a big problem in skincare. So many foods we consume contain so much sodium that the pockets in our faces swell up like balloons and we think we need to run out and get a facelift. Getting rid of bloat will work WONDERS for your skin. Citrus fruits and Vitamin C encourage that and so much more.

Citrus fruits are so nutritious and I’m very concerned that the experts don’t encourage us to eat more of them. Back in the 80’s there was always an orange juice commercial on television and everybody drank it.

Back in the 1950’s women touted the grapefruit diet. I can personally attest to the weight loss results of eating grapefruit. Every time I commit to incorporating grapefruit in my weight loss plan, it helps me lose more weight than I would have without it.

People used to eat a lot of citrus in those days, and incidentally we should note that people were also a lot thinner and much healthier.

Eggs

According to Dr. Axe, there is a heaping helping of collagen in eggs. Two whole poached eggs in the morning or a simple egg white omelet will batten up your skin’s defenses. Eggs also contain readily-available and highly absorbable protein along with some very specific amino acids that help deliver structural compounds and nutrients right into the skin.

Eggs are a whole food. They are a complete food. The receptive centers in your skin cells devour all this collagen and protein to build and bolster the skin tissue framework.

Eggs also contain Vitamin A which helps to exfoliate and encourage cell turnover. In our “Flu Face” post we mentioned using an egg mask to help repair tired, clogged skin. Now imagine repairing the skin from the inside out by eating a simple omelet each morning with a generous cup of freshly squeezed citrus juice.

Consuming eggs every day will help your skin with elasticity and collagen production. If you’re not eating eggs everyday, now is the perfect time to start.
